I know, I know, I said I'd finish up my half of my trade with ASAP, but... I guess I sort of got sidetracked... But besides that I kind of wanted to brush up on my shading and whatnot, since I'd rather screw up some fan art than a half of a trade. Pardon the wait, but it'll be for the best!
Anyways, this is one of my favorite scenes from the LotR books, when Pippin finds Merry wandering around in Minas Tirith after the battle and has to guide him to the Houses of Healing. There's a lot of great action scenes, for sure, but I like these quiet moments just as well.
I'm actually pretty happy with how this came out. I tried a different technique for the hair, which takes a bit longer than the way I normally do it but looks way better (at least to me ) and I followed the incredible 's chainmail tutorial. And for once I actually intended for the background to be minimal, instead of just being lazy. I always pictured this scene as being misty and kind of eerie.

Oh, a great scene from the books! I like how you portray and the emotion in the hobbits´faces. The chain mail turned out beautifully! I also like that you have Merry bruised and bloody and with an exhausted position. It shows how far gone he was.
And, overall, I still continue to love how you show our hobbits as being brave and daring. They are cute and elf like in the ears, but they came forward and faced the enemy with bravery. You captured that so well here.

Another excellent job!
